Why do cats need whiskers indoors?

Whiskers are incredibly important to indoor cats, as they help them map out every room they traverse. Their sensory helpers feel out the narrow expanse between your desk and wall, as needed, or enable your cat to not smack into chairs during hours of play. They prevent your furry pal from walking straight into the wall when the lights go out. They measure precisely how far along the edge of the counter they need to make their daring leap. Your darling is using those whiskers, ranger!

In the dark, it's all about the whiskers. They pick up changes in air flow around objects. Because of them, your cat can dodge unlikely tripping hazards and rain-of-death doors. Spinning fan blades become treat-finders. I've watched mine stop suddenly when headed into an unseen chair. They can sense the object through vibration detection, not with their eyes.

Whiskers supply valuable safety features. They save your cat from sharp edges. Your kitty doesn't get her eyes poked by plants. He knows when to steer clear of the heater. Mine is back to safety at the earliest opportunity if something feels hot. Even when these hazards aren't present in life at home, whiskers are still worth having.

Clear paths where kitties frequently travel. I opened up paths around my house. I can't tell you how much easier life with whiskers has become.

You want a safe cat with unbroken whiskers! Observe them as they navigate your rooms. You'll see their biological necessity in the house.
